The sincerest form of flattery?

There's that old saying that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, I have to beg to differ in this case. If you happen to come across any of the pieces in the top row of the photo on Etsy or elsewhere, please note that my standards of quality have not gone down the toilet - they are not made by me. The maker is claiming innocence, even though I am in her Etsy favorites, so there is no doubt she has seen my work. Argh!

That is SO blatant, I think you should post something on Etsy's forum about it....heck, a cease and desist letter....I need to learn more about copyright!

By the way, I keep up with your blog and love to see what you're working on next! I have a blog, but haven't been keeping up with it the way I should!

How ridiculous... I know I don't need to say it, but of course yours are 100 times better.

I'll be buying from you (again) in the future, I promise.

That is rather extremely blatant - but the quality is so far off that there's no way that anyone is going to mistake them with yours.

If the maker actually said that she wasn't copying from you then that's kind of funny (although that would insult anyone's intelligence!)

IMO, it's ok to get ideas from other people, but to try and completely copy someone else's work just shows that you don't have a whole lot of creativity!

Your work is far more beautiful in comparison! The quality and vision of your work is far superior. I agree with Lisa that no one would mistake your work with theirs.
I just came across your work on Etsy's front page today. Congrats! I've marked your shop in my favorites. Good luck and all the best!

This person also appears to be using another businesses name. There is a Girly Girl Studio in New York. I bet they wouldn't be happy either.

I agree that this is not right.
Your work has a lot of quality and creativity.
It is really bad that some people do not have a gram of creativity and respect to other artists.

OUCH! That's got to hurt! I'd probably contact Etsy as well, but then move on - she'll always be chasing you or someone else. . . you'll always be out front. :)

I agree with everyone, how upsetting to have a copy cat. Your work is amazing!

has there been further developments? I'm curious about the response from the admirer and etsy when contacted.
