New etched plates

Here are some newly etched brass plates. I use these to imprint on to the metal clay while it's wet. The fired pieces are then oxidized, and the black stays in the recessed areas, bringing out the image. This is the method I use for all my work. I hope to get pieces made from these plates listed tomorrow.

Well that explains why the pictures have so much detail. Nice work!

I once did a whole batch of etching on copper and brass and then put the pieces through a rolling mill with some annealed sterling sheet. That turned out pretty well.

Then I took a class and learn how to etch sterling silver. I still like metal clay better.

I like metal clay better too, although after taking Robert's workshop I'm more inclined to use other materials!
